SEMESTRE VI

Organic agriculture is shrouded in myths, one of which is the type of inputs it uses, another is that it may be similar to agroecology, another is when commercial crops based on organic principles are addressed, and finally, when deciding to undertake a certification process, either through self-declaration or a third-party certifier, to obtain certifications such as Global GAP, Flor Verde, Rainforest, Fairtrade, etc. In this first course, you will learn the basics of organic and certified agriculture, with an emphasis on Colombian ecological standards and legal compliance associated with the regulations of the ICA, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Social Protection, and their affiliated and related institutions, in addition to the regulations issued by the Congress of the Republic.
This first course will lay the foundation for understanding specialized agriculture and legal compliance with Colombian regulations.
